Qualifications

• RN license active in the relevant state.
• BSN degree preferred; ADN accepted with experience.
• Ability to apply evidence-based nursing practices.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils and quality initiatives to improve care using evidence-based practice.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care with patients and families.
• Monitors conditions, adjusts plans, and collaborates with the care team to improve outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety across the unit.
• Continuously evaluates patient and unit outcomes and takes appropriate action.
• May administer medications and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication and delegates tasks within the team.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and other staff.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units to meet patient care needs.
• Provides age-appropriate care with knowledge of growth and development.
