Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking a newly graduated registered nurse to begin a clinical nursing career in a dynamic hospital environment. You will work under the Nurse Manager, gaining direct patient care experience while contributing to a collaborative care team in a busy unit.

New graduates are encouraged to apply to the med/surg Residency Program. A NYS RN license in good standing and a nursing degree from an accredited program are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Active New York State RN license in good standing.
• Level I: <6–12 months RN experience; Level II: ≥6–12 months RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a new graduate nurse with less than one year of experience under the Nurse Manager.
• Builds competency in direct patient care and supports the care delivery system at the unit level.
• Works 8- or 12-hour shifts; holidays and weekends per unit policy.
• Participates in the med/surg Residency Program for new graduates.
• Be part of an all RN model of care team delivering high-quality patient care.
