Units Available: Med/Surg Units (Oncology, Ortho, Trauma, Neuro & General) ONLY

  • Advanced clinical training in a specialty area
  • Monthly educational sessions
  • Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor
  • Hands-on simulations for skills measurement and evaluation
  • Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders
  • Collaborative evidence-based practice projects

The RN Resident provides high-quality, patient-centered care aligned with departmental needs and standards. They collaborate with medical providers and care team members to deliver individualized, compassionate care based on established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. The RN Resident advocates for patients, families, and caregivers to ensure an excellent patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient conditions during admission and shifts, reporting any changes
  • Perform procedures and monitoring as ordered, documenting care thoroughly and promptly
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor responses, and notify providers of any issues
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs proactively
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, medications, and follow-up care, translating medical terminology as needed

Qualifications Needed:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment
  • Other certifications may be required during employment
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the state
  • No prior experience required
  • Travel may be needed for training
