Job summary

UPMC Mercy is a large acute‑care Level I Trauma Center in western Pennsylvania. We are seeking New Graduate Respiratory Therapists ready to grow their skills while making an impact from day one.

As a new graduate, you will work with experienced clinicians in a supportive team environment, gain hands‑on experience with high‑acuity patients, and benefit from structured onboarding, mentorship, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory program or enrolled student with temporary license approved to begin employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required prior to expiration of temporary practice permit.
• CRT credential from NBRC required after July 1, 2002 to maintain NBRC certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates orders and interprets clinical data to optimize patient care.
• Sets up and operates ventilators and other respiratory therapy devices.
• Assists with transport of ventilated patients and responds to code situations.
• Documents patient care and supervises trainees during training.
