Job summary

Great Plains Health seeks a Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical unit to provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You will collaborate with physicians and the health care team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

You will document care, participate in ongoing education, and support evidence-based practices within a dynamic hospital setting. BLS and state RN licensure are required, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in state of practice or compact state license.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and ensures completion within appropriate timeframe.
• Formulates a plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and input from patient, family and health team.
• Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the health care team.
• Evaluates patient progress and revises the plan of care as needed in collaboration with team.
• Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record with clear, timely notes.
• Participates in evidence-based practice and supports education/mentoring of staff.
• Contributes to quality outcomes and collaborates with the care team to improve patient care.
