Job summary

SpaceX in Starbase, TX is seeking a December 2026 new graduate Propulsion Engineer to help develop fluid systems for Starship and Super Heavy, including sizing, CAD modeling, and manufacturability improvements.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s/master’s/PhD in engineering or physics with 1+ year experience in mechanical or fluids design or build. Willingness to relocate to Starbase and readiness for extended hours is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with fluid dynamics, finite element, or related computer-based modeling.
• Experience with pressurized components (valves, regulators, tubes, pipes).
• Experience leading operation-critical part mechanical design, including structures and fluids calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform fluids system sizing analysis to determine basic system requirements.
• Transform system requirements into hardware concepts and trade options.
• Design a range of pressurized and unpressurized structures and parts with CAD models.
• Perform structural analysis of parts to ensure survivability.
• Execute design for manufacturability changes to enhance production efficiency.
• Drive first builds of flight hardware and establish a production line.
