Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Starbase, TX, is seeking a December 2026 new graduate Mechanical Engineer (Starship) to help design, analyze, and build propulsion and support hardware for Starship and Super Heavy.

You will perform hand calculations and FEA, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and iterate on manufacturing processes in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to contribute across design, analysis, test, and tooling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in engineering or physics and 2026/2027 graduation.
  • 1+ years of mechanical or fluids design, analysis, or build experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in engineering and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Own design and development of next generation launch hardware and production lines.
  • Transform system requirements into hardware concepts and options.
  • Perform hand calculations and FEA to optimize designs.
  • Iterate manufacturing processes and testing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure hardware integrates with Starship systems.
  • Participate in design reviews with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Contribute ideas and improvements for current and next-generation vehicles.
