Corning Incorporated is seeking anPolymer Engineer to join our Manufacturing, Technology and Engineering organization in Corning, NY. We are looking for new or recent grads with 0-2 years experience to start late Summer or early Fall 2027. This role offers hands-on work across laboratory, product, and manufacturing environments and includes up to 25% travel, primarily domestic, to support training and business needs.

In this role, you will applypolymer and materials science fundamentals to solve technical challenges related to material selection, characterization, processing, product development, and manufacturing support. As part of Corning’s Manufacturing, Technology and Engineering organization, you will support multiple Corning businesses and technologies while working with researchers, suppliers, manufacturing teams, and other subject matter experts to improve product and process performance.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

• BS in Polymer Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 0–2 years of relevant experience, including coursework, internships, co-ops, undergraduate research, graduate work, or industry experience
• Understanding of polymer and materials science fundamentals, including structure-property relationships
• Experience with laboratory testing, material characterization, or experimental research
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• MS or PhD in a relevant discipline
• Experience with polymer processing such as molding, extrusion, compounding, or related operations
• Exposure to thermal analysis and polymer characterization methods such as DSC, TGA, DMA, or rheology
• Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, or structured problem-solving tools such as DMAIC, Six Sigma, or KT
• Exposure to manufacturing environments, process development, sustainability initiatives, recycled materials, or regrind utilization

The range for this position is$67,150.00-$92,331.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
