Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport is launching an OR Transition to Practice program for new graduate RNs and experienced nurses transitioning into perioperative roles.

The 12-month program blends theory, simulation, and clinical rotations across multiple surgical specialties. During the 3-month orientation, you will learn the scrub role and complete Periop 101 exams; the remaining 9 months focus on circulating nurse competencies in general, colorectal, gynecology,

Qualifications

• Connecticut nursing license required prior to start date.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• Exposure to perioperative nursing practice environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Hartford HealthCare's OR Transition to Practice program to develop foundational perioperative nursing competencies.
• Serve as Scrub or Circulating Nurse within the operating room as assigned.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and high-quality care during perioperative periods.
