Qualifications

• Graduate nurses must provide direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation within nursing standards.
• Must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation to remain employed in a Missouri health system.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients and families on managing illness, post-treatment home care, and medication administration.
• Uses critical thinking to assess and address patients' physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
• Develops and implements individual plans of care in collaboration with the care team and promotes patient- and family-centered care.
• Evaluates patient response and adjusts plans of care as needed during the stay.
• Participates in activities promoting patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance and engages in professional development.
