Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
• Strong leadership ability and good organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate complex topics to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Delivers direct and indirect patient care per nurse practice acts and hospital policies.
• Assists RN with focused patient admission assessment and age-specific care planning.
• Collaborates with RN to implement, monitor, and reassess individualized care plans.
• Documents accurately in the EMR and maintains charting timeliness.
• Observes and reports patient condition changes to the RN.
• Initiates and maintains IV therapy per protocol.
• Supports rehabilitation and encourages activities of daily living.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions with RN input.
• Maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and the care team.
• Participates in unit performance improvement and data collection.
• Acts as a preceptor/mentor to new hires and students.
• Complies with infection control and regulatory requirements; supports safety initiatives.
• Performs code team roles during emergencies and other duties as assigned.
