Job Title: Millwork Machine Operator

About New England Caseworks:

New England Caseworks specializes in commercial casework and millwork solutions, built by experienced craftspersons to meet the needs of the Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial, and Laboratory markets.

We are seeking an experienced Millwork Machine Operator for our commercial cabinet shop in Woburn, MA. The ideal candidate has experience in an automated shop and is familiar with machinery such as panel saws, edge banders, point-to-point machines, drilling and dowel machinery, case clamps, and various hand tools. Experience building commercial cabinetry in an automated wood and plastic laminate shop is required. This is a full-time, hourly position with hours from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, reporting to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing general production work, specifically cabinet assembly.
  2. Preparing, organizing, and maintaining materials, products, and tools necessary for assembly.
  3. Learning processes, machine setup, and problem-solving techniques.
  4. Setting up work areas for sanding and routing wood.
  5. Reviewing drawings to ensure products, accessories, and components are ready for assembly.
  6. Coordinating with the finishing department to ensure smooth processes and task completion.
  7. Maintaining a consistent, fast-paced workflow to meet project deadlines.
  8. Checking own work to ensure no defects.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; carpentry experience preferred.
  2. At least 5 years of experience with automated machinery and commercial cabinetry.
  3. Experience with 32 mm dowel construction and quality control.
  4. Reliable transportation to and from work.
  5. Dependability and reliability.
  6. Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs with proper techniques.
  7. Background check and drug screening required.

This position involves exposure to noise from machinery and requires regular lifting and transporting of materials. It is a standing position with frequent movement around the shop floor. No travel is required. Flexibility to perform additional duties as needed is expected.
