Job summary

The Alloy, a DoubleTree by Hilton in King of Prussia, PA, is seeking a seasoned Engineering Supervisor for a full-time position. The role offers competitive pay ($35-40/hour) based on experience, great benefits, paid time off/holidays, 401k, and discounted hotel rooms.

You will maintain the building and all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment, supporting energy conservation and preventive maintenance programs while ensuring guest areas remain attractive and operational.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times; conduct walk-throughs and assess maintenance of the hotel’s structure, systems and equipment.
• Verify completion of routine maintenance in public spaces and offices; manage repairs, replacements and renovation projects.
• Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and disciplining department staff.
• Adhere to corporate purchasing policies and maintain safety procedures per OSHA.
• Maintain Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs and train other departments.
• Inform the supervisor about building condition and propose cost-effective maintenance plans.
• Repair HVAC and clean HVAC coils as required; repair appliances as needed.
• Ensure compliance with brand key control policies; check smoke alarms on a scheduled basis.
• Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest requests and communicate status changes to Front Desk and Housekeeping.

The Alloy a DoubleTree by Hilton is hiring a seasoned Engineering Supervisor.

The hourly range for this position is $35-40/hour based on experience and knowledge. Must be flexible with schedule.

Summary

Maintain the entire hotel facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure the upkeep of guest areas to maintain an attractive hotel.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times, set example for all hotel associates. Conduct walk-throughs and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.
• Verify completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, ballrooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, and grounds. Verify completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects to offices and employee work areas.
• Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and disciplining department staff and all other staff under direction of the Engineering Department, such as painters, upholsterers, and groundskeepers.
• Adhere to all corporate-required purchasing policies and controls, including, but not limited to, all outside contractor bids, budgets, and schedules. Follow prescribed safety procedures for personnel and equipment by the company and OSHA.
• Maintain effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs and conduct special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy in the hotel.
• Inform the supervisor on a regular basis regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s), related systems, and equipment offering prudent, cost effective proposals for maintaining these systems. Access and input information into a computer and generate reports.
• Repair HVAC as required; and clean HVAC coils semi-annually or as required.
• Repair appliances as required.
• Ensure implementation and compliance of brand standard key control policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Check Smoke Alarms throughout hotels on a scheduled basis according to brand standards.
• Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest special requests. Constant and effective communication required.
• Assist the General Manager in resolving guest concerns.
• Educate and lead all department personnel on emergency procedures, key control, safety, and life safety precautions.
• Communication changes in suite/room status with the Front Desk and Housekeeping.
• Answer guest questions regarding hotels and local area facilities and services.
• Ensure all standards are adhered to at all times.
• Any reasonable request by management that you are capable of performing.
• Comply with hotel policies and procedures.
