Job summary

National Technologies (NTI), a Network Connex Company, is a premier turnkey installer of fiber optic and data center infrastructure. The Network Technician-Data Center will support the installation of racks, cages, grounding, and related infrastructure at customer sites.

This role involves fieldwork, potential overtime, weekends, and travel as needed, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork to meet customer timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Education Level: High School/GED.
• Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices.
• Carpentry, or Electrical experience, Electronics, Telecommunications, Construction or Project Management is a plus.
• Experience: 2-4 years in a related role.

Responsibilities

• Perform data center cage and overhead ladder rack installations per industry standards.
• Understand and adhere to customer timelines and requirements.
• Coordinate activities with coworkers and management to ensure smooth progress.
• Read and follow drawings, measurements, and instructions.
• Ensure safe, accurate installation of Unistrut, containment, and overhead support.
• Move and assemble components, maintain organization on site.

Job Summary

The primary responsibilities of the Network Technician-Data Center is to support the installation of infrastructure including but not limited to racks, cabinets, cage walls, hot/cold isle containment, grounding, fiber guide, Unistrut, and ladder rack. Other duties, responsibilities and qualifications may be required and/or assigned. This position requires fieldwork which may include overtime, weekends, holidays, and off hours. Travel may be required depending on the business needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform data center cage and overhead ladder rack in accordance with industry standards.


• Understand and adhere to customer timelines.


• Team player that coordinates and communicates activities with other employees, departments, and management.


• Unistrut, containment, and overhead support installations


• Measure and cut accurately, install level and plumb


• Read and follow drawings, instructions


• Coordinate and communicate activities with other employees, departments, and management

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices and communication networks


• Good work ethics and a willingness to learn


• Ability to pay close attention to detail and make good sound decisions based on information given


• Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure


• Must hold a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

Education and Experience

• Education Level: High School/GED


• Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices


• Carpentry, or Electrical experience, Electronics, Telecommunications, Construction or Project Management is a plus


• Experience: 2-4 years of relevant job experience. Relevant job experience is described as job experience in similar industry or job experience with similar essential duties

Physical Requirements

• Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl


• Ability to lift upwards of 75 pounds


• Comfortable working in all weather conditions
