Job summary

Andy’s Statewide Heating & Air Conditioning, part of American Residential Services (ARS), seeks an HVAC Install Mechanic for new construction projects. You will read blueprints, install ductwork, piping, and HVAC units, and ensure proper system startup and testing.

Responsibilities include wiring, safety compliance, and mentoring apprentices while coordinating with builders and project managers. EPA certification and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of HVAC installation or new construction experience.
• Completion of HVAC trade training or equivalent experience.
• EPA certification required.
• Advanced knowledge of carpentry, gas piping, electricity, and air flow.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Strong familiarity with local codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform all stages of HVAC installation in new construction, including layout, ductwork, piping, wiring, finish, and system start-up.
• Read blueprints and work with builders, contractors, and project managers to ensure correct system placement and layout.
• Cut, assemble, and install ductwork, chimneys, copper piping, drain lines, and exhaust systems.
• Set and install HVAC units, air handlers, thermostats, and control systems.
• Wire main power lines and ensure secure, code-compliant electrical connections.
• Start up and test HVAC systems to verify proper function, pressures, and air flow.
• Train and support assigned apprentices on the job.
• Ensure all installations meet safety codes, local regulations, and company quality standards.
