Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a CAD Tools Engineer to advance NAND, DRAM, and HBM design flows. You will develop, enhance, and support CAD tools, provide production support across design and verification, and train end users on new tools and methodologies.

Collaborate with design and process teams, vendors, and customers to enable timely design execution. The role emphasizes AI/ML techniques to improve CAD methodologies and automation in a world-leading memory company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Strong programming fundamentals in languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or Lisp.
  • Experience in Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
  • Experience in CAD engineering or related field supporting semiconductor design.
  • Experience applying AI/ML techniques or data-driven CAD methodologies.

Job description

Responsibilities

  • Provide production support for in-house and commercial EDA tools across design, physical layout, and verification environments.
  • Deliver training, documentation, and ongoing support to end users for new tools, flows, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with design teams, process teams, vendors, and customers to enable successful and timely design execution.
  • Apply CAD software engineering methods and research techniques to support product development and evaluate architectural and hardware limitations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong programming fundamentals with experience in languages such as SKILL, Python, C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, Perl, or Lisp.
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments with proficiency in shell scripting.
  • Experience in CAD engineering or a closely related field supporting semiconductor design.
  • Experience applying artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning techniques, or working in environments where AI‑enabled tools and data‑driven methodologies are leveraged to improve productivity, efficiency, and design robustness.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated background in VLSI circuit design.
  • Experience using IC design CAD tools for schematic capture, layout, simulation, and verification.
  • Direct experience with CMOS implementation, including tradeoffs between area, speed, and power.
  • Experience leveraging AI‑enabled analytics, data science techniques, or machine learning approaches to enhance CAD methodologies and automation.
