Combating Trafficking in Persons & Child Labor

Team: Human Rights, Education & Empowerment

Winrock International is searching for a New Business Consultant to work with the Human Rights, Education & Empowerment (HREE) division to provide essential surge capacity and undertake a host of new business tasks focused on combating trafficking in persons and related issues.

The consultancy will be for 20 hours per week over ten weeks, starting as soon as possible. The consultant will report to the Associate Vice President of Human Rights, Education & Empowerment and collaborate closely with the division's leadership and the New Business team.

Expected Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to document HREE’s theory of change and value offerings.
  • Source and vet solicitations from federal, international, and non-federal donors for prioritization by HREE leadership.
  • Conduct assessments to identify and prioritize companies and foundations funding work related to trafficking in persons, unsafe migration, and child labor.
  • Lead the development of a corporate and foundation engagement strategy for HREE’s work.
  • Create positioning and marketing materials for foundation and private sector funders, including pitch decks and documentation of service offerings.

Education:

  • MA in Business, International Development, or a related field required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in new business development, especially with foundation and corporate funders.
  • Demonstrated experience in international development.
  • Experience with new business in the international democracy, governance sector, or human rights programs is highly desirable.
  • Track record of identifying and developing non-federal funding sources, including corporations, foundations, and international donors.
  • Fluency in English and excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience working in developing countries is required.

Duration: 20 hours per week for ten weeks, beginning as soon as possible.
