Job summary

Vistra Corp. is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to lead the testing and turnover of large-scale power generation projects. You will verify control systems operate to design specs, coordinate with EPCs, suppliers, and owners' engineers, and ensure safe, reliable handover to Operations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in power generation operations, maintenance or engineering.
• Experience with Power Plant Control Systems.
• Bachelor of Science in an accredited Engineering or Engineering Technology program; relevant certifications may apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering/control system design and equipment specifications per Vistra standards.
• Establish standardized commissioning and testing procedures across projects.
• Coordinate delivery and installation of system controls equipment.
• Provide on-site technical expertise and coordination with Fleet SME resources.
• Construct, implement and document commissioning/testing processes and procedures.
• Coordinate with stakeholders (vendors, Vistra IT, cybersecurity, operations, commercial teams).
• Support projects post-commissioning to ensure turnover to operations.
• Ensure contract deliverables are met on-time, on-budget and to safety/performance specs.
• Develop and support documentation turnover from contractors during commissioning.
