Job summary

Baptist Health Downtown in Jacksonville is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neurosurgical Progressive Care Unit on a full-time night shift. You will care for postoperative patients after spinal procedures, angiograms, aneurysms, and craniotomies, as well as stroke and neuro-related conditions, with a focus on safety and family education.

We welcome nurses new to neuro care and offer extensive education and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of Medical-Surgical Nursing experience.
• Telemetry experience is required.
• Hospital experience is required.

Responsibilities

• As a Registered Nurse in the Neurosurgical Progressive Care Unit, you will provide care to patients postoperatively after spinal procedures, diagnostic angiograms, aneurysms, and craniotomies.
• Perform physical assessments and neuro checks for timely detection of changes.
• Provide surgical site care to prevent infection and educate patients and families about care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and rehab services (physical, occupational, and speech therapy).
• Participate in staff meetings and unit activities while upholding the hospital mission.
