Job summary

Baptist Health Downtown seeks a Registered Nurse for the Neurosurgical Progressive Care Unit in Jacksonville. This full-time night-shift role provides care for patients recovering from spinal procedures, neurodiagnostic interventions, strokes, and related conditions.

The unit offers growth through strong education and mentorship from experienced neuro nurses. Ideal candidates have ASN with RN licensure; BSN preferred; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients following medical or surgical procedures and other conditions.
• Perform physical assessments and neuro checks.
• Provide surgical site care to prevent infection.
• Educate patients and families about disease, plan of care, and prognosis.
• Collaborate with physicians and allied health professionals (PT/OT/SLP).
• Participate in staff meetings and unit activities.
• Support hospital mission and quality goals.
