Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Jersey City Medical Center Neuro team. The role is full-time, day shift, with a rotating schedule to cover 24/7/365, located in Jersey City, NJ.

The PA provides perioperative care and collaborates with neurosurgeons, following NJ state PA regulations and hospital policies. Excellent certifications and ongoing CME participation are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA accredited Physician Assistant program and licensed by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners
• Successful of all required orientation programs
• CDS, DEA, BLS and ACLS certifications
• Must obtain ATLS within the first year of employment

Responsibilities

• Provides pre-operative, operative and post-operative patient care under supervision
• Responds to and participates in evaluation and resuscitation of trauma patients
• Act as neurosurgical liaison by evaluating and informing on-call neurosurgeon
• Observe and care for service patients in the surgical ICU and participate in rounds
• Assist in Neurosurgical and Neuroendovascular procedures and operations
• Participates in CME for professional growth
• Obtains and records detailed case histories and physical examinations
• Educates medical and PA students and supports patient records and orders

Education

AMA accredited Physician Assistant program and New Jersey license
