Jobot is seeking an experienced Neurosurgery Physician Assistant for in-house, three 12-hour night shifts per week at Englewood, NJ. You will handle inpatient consults, pre/post operative care, and perioperative management, with collaboration from attending surgeons. Requires NJ PA license, NJ DEA, CDS, ACLS/BLS, and at least two years in neurosurgery.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant required.
• Master's of Science in Physician Assistant Studies required.
• New Jersey Physician Assistant License required.
• New Jersey DEA License required.
• New Jersey CDS License required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates inpatient consults and rounds on hospital patients as requested by surgeons.
• Independently assess patients and order appropriate labs, radiology tests, and consults.
• Performs history and physicals; writes pre/post operative orders for surgeons.
• Prescribe medications according to New Jersey law, including controlled substances with DEA authorization.
• Maintain board certification and CME requirements for re-appointment and privileging.
• Collaborate with attending physicians and PA team to implement treatment plans.

We are a neurosurgical private practice, located in various locations in NJ who is looking to hire an experienced, independent, and self-motivated Physician Assistant. Position is for in house, night shifts only. Duties will include inpatient hospital consults, management of surgical patients in the preoperative/perioperative period, responding to acute stroke calls/consults, and surgical first assist as needed. Job Details

The position is full-time (three, 12 hour shifts per week (6pm-6am)

Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluates inpatient consults and rounds on hospital patients as requested by the group’s surgeons
• Independently assess patients and order appropriate labs/radiology tests/consults
• Performs history & physicals, writes pre and post operative orders for surgeon
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, creative problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Prescribe medications according to New Jersey State law, including controlled substances with DEA authorization
• Maintains board certification
• Maintains annual CME requirement for re-appointment and privileging
• Maintains current expertise in area of practice
• Promotes own professional growth and development in clinical role
• Works collaboratively with the attending physicians & PA team to maintain timely and appropriate communication
• Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team including the attending physicians to develop and implement the therapeutic plan of care for requesting attending surgeons
• Assists in surgical cases as needed

• Master's of Science in Physician Assistant Studies
