Job summary

Mercy Health in Toledo, OH is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Neurosurgery team as a first assist in cranial and spine cases. This full-time, inpatient role emphasizes teamwork and hands-on surgical care.

You will work closely with neurosurgeons, participate in postoperative orders and rounding, and support elective neurosurgery patients. The schedule is primarily Monday–Friday with variable start times and occasional weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Certified Physician Assistant credential required.
• Ability to obtain Ohio medical license.
• Ability to obtain prescriptive authority/DEA registration.
• Collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.
• Interest in a hands-on surgical role within neurosurgery.

Responsibilities

• First assisting neurosurgeons in the operating room.
• Patient positioning and surgical preparation.
• Opening and closing cases.
• Assisting throughout cranial and spine procedures.
• Entering postoperative orders.
• Completing postoperative checks.
• Inpatient rounding on elective neurosurgery patients.
