Qualifications

Inova Neurosurgery is looking for a dedicated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Physician Assistant (APPs) to join the team. Positions are available across multiple locations and shifts including PRN/Part Time/Full-Time opportunities. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are eligible.

You can be considered for any position in the following counties/service areas in Northern Virginia:

  • Arlington County
  • Prince William County

Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider Job Responsibilities:

  • The APP will be responsible for all aspects of the service, including daily rounds and progress notes.
  • ER and inpatient consults, admissions, and discharges.
  • Ordering and interpreting labs and radiologic studies.
  • Fielding phone calls from bedside nurses.
  • Multidisciplinary care coordination and patient education.
  • You may also perform procedures within scope of practice and Inova Health credentialing and privileges, including EVD and ICP monitor placement.
  • Some opportunities exist for first-assisting in the OR, as service needs permit or require.
  • The APP will work directly with neurosurgeons.

Additional Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
  • Certification: Board certified (ACNP or NCCPA certification), BLS, Virginia License, DEA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in inpatient neurosurgery, spine, or orthopedics.
