Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Nurse Practitioner for our Neurosurgery Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

The Neurosurgical NP will perform rounds and post-operative visits, conduct assessments, assist in surgeries, coordinate care with teams, and provide patient and family education in a 40-hour, evening shift schedule in Maryland.

Qualifications

• Completed an Accredited NP Program.
• Two years neurosurgical experience or surgical residency preferred.
• NCCPA certification required.
• Maryland State NP license required.
• CDS and DEA required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Meet credentialing requirements for Medical staff, including background check.
• Supportive of Mission and RISES values with proactive customer service.

Responsabilités

• Perform daily rounds and post-operative visits, documenting appropriately and communicating with attending.
• Perform initial and on-going assessments of patients' medical and physical status, including H&Ps and neurosurgical consultations, to help develop treatment plan.
• Assist as needed in surgeries, including pre/post-operative setup and documentation to include admission/discharge orders and brief op note; Includes lumbar, cervical, and cranial surgeries.
• Coordinate with other departments and consultants as needed for inpatient care and discharge planning.
• Coordinate service recovery to ensure positive patient experience and clinical excellence.
• Order and interpret patient testing such as lab work and imaging, order treatments or follow-up based on results.
• Provide patients, families, and nursing staff with education, counseling, and discharge instructions/expectations as needed.
• Maintain continuity of care with clear and accurate documentation of clinical records.
