Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider to join a busy Neurosurgical practice at Piedmont Athens Hospital. You will take histories, perform exams, document findings, and develop plans of care to optimize patient outcomes in a high-volume setting.

Role includes pre-/post-op appointments, coordinating labs, and collaborating with supervising physicians, nurses, and referral coordinators.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's in Nursing Required
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board Required
• 1 year Neurosurgical experience preferred
• PA - Physician Assistant Licensed in Georgia. Updated NCCPA for PA's Upon Hire Required
• ACNP - Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

• Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in medical records in ambulatory practice.
• Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
• Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries with pertinent findings.
• Develop plans of care to minimize complications and troubleshoot problems.
• Complete pre-op and post-op appointments and ensure labs and clearances are complete before surgery.
• Collaborate with supervising physician to ensure quality of care.
• Work with nurses to triage patient needs and with referral coordinators for scheduling.
• Rotate weeknight, weekend, and holiday call with other APPs; take call with physician.
