University of New Mexico Hospitals seeks a motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Neurosurgery Clinic in Albuquerque. This 1.0 FTE, dedicated role involves outpatient care across a broad neurosurgical case mix, including cranial and spinal conditions, with close collaboration to neurosurgeons and the multidisciplinary team.

The position offers day or night shifts, with a focus on pre/post-operative follow-up and continuum-of-care.

Competenze

• Essential: Program Graduate.
• Essential: Advanced Nurse or Physician Assistant.
• Essential: 1 year directly related experience.
• Nonessential: Bilingual English, Spanish, and other languages.

Mansioni

• Assess, diagnose and develop treatment plans; implement treatment and follow-up within scope of practice.
• Perform patient history and physical exams for procedures or admissions; document findings.
• Complete admitting orders, daily rounds and orders; coordinate with nurses and staff; discharge summaries.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests; explain preparation and effects to patient/family.
• Evaluate and revise care plans with patient and family to improve health outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about preventive care and prescribed treatments.
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record and communicate with the team.
• Collaborate with medical/nursing staff to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Guide and support clinical staff; serve as a resource for education and mentorship.
• Support research activities and incorporate findings into practice.
• Pursue ongoing professional development through training and workshops.
