Job summary

Comfortable, patient-focused Medical Assistant role at Mosaic Life Care, serving Saint Joseph, MO. The MA provides a broad range of clinical and administrative support under supervision, including patient intake, coding and charting, medication administration, and preparing patients for examinations.

Responsibilities include assisting providers with procedures, collecting specimens, performing basic clinical tests, and ensuring accurate medical records and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Six months physician’s office or healthcare setting preferred.
• HS Diploma required.
• If hired after 06/01/2021 must complete Medical Assistant training program.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patient and documents patient information in the medical record.
• Administers and documents prescribed medications and treatments.
• Observes and reports patient responses to medications.
• Documents medication refills and communicates with providers.
• Assists providers with examinations and procedures and prepares sterile fields.
• Collects and prepares laboratory specimens and conducts point-of-care testing.
• Performs clinic procedures (EKGs, eye tests, bone density tests, wound care, dressing changes).
• Provides patient education materials as instructed by providers.
• Manages appointments, insurance forms, and referrals; handles patient communication and scheduling.
• Enters patient data into the computer system and maintains medical records.
• Cleans and maintains patient care areas; ensures sanitary, safe, organized facility.
• Other duties as assigned.
