Job summary

Indiana University’s Neurological Surgery department seeks a Clinical Research Specialist to support neurosurgical protocols. The role collaborates with PIs and a busy team to conduct studies, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage recruitment and data activities.

The position requires a science health-related degree with clinical research experience and strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and accurate data entry, while maintaining study integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or a health-related field with 2 years of clinical research experience; OR
• Associate's degree in science or health-related field with 3 years of clinical research experience.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and conducts protocol review, evaluations, study design, and risk assessments of clinical research studies.
• Participates in study budget negotiations and reconciles study budget accounts.
• Develops informational materials for recruitment of subjects and monitors enrollment goals.
• Oversees and ensures regulatory compliance; prepares IRB documents and regulatory submissions for sponsor.
• Identifies and screens potential subjects and conducts interviews; collects data per protocol(s).
• Reviews SAEs and assists PI in determinations and follow-up actions.
• Performs study-related non-medical/behavioral assessments and study procedures per licensure.
• Reports protocol deviations and trial changes to PI and sub-investigators.
