Job description

Responsibilities

NORTON NEUROSCIENCE INSTITUTE is seeking a physician assistant or acute care trained nurse practitioner with neurosurgery practice experience or a strong interest in neurosurgery.

The selected candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to build a neurosurgical practice that suits their experience and passion.

As a regional leader for neurosurgical care, Norton Neuroscience Institute provides care for more than 100,000 patients each year, including more than 15,000 unique neurosurgical patients at three primary practice locations and an additional eight satellite locations.

The neurosurgery team has subspecialized focuses including endovascular/cerebrovascular, complex spine, neurosurgical oncology, cranial neurosurgery, neurosurgery and functional neurosurgery. Our team of nationally recognized, endovascular fellowship-trained neurosurgeons specialize in therapy techniques, including minimally invasive surgeries. In addition to performing these advanced procedures, the team has completed extensive training in and performed many traditional open neurosurgeries. Norton is at the forefront of these emerging technologies, making them available for the first time to patients in Louisville and Southern Indiana.

The candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team and use these advanced technologies. In addition to the biplane technology, Norton utilizes Medtronic's O-arm O2 Imaging System and StealthStation S8 Surgical Navigation System, Brainlab software and devices, Airo Mobile Intraoperative CT and the Mazor X Robotic Guidance System.

Additionally, Norton Neuroscience Institute leads a system of stroke care, including the DNV Healthcare Inc. certified Norton Brownsboro Hospital Comprehensive Stroke Center and the Norton Children's Hospital Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, named a Level 4 center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.
