Job summary

UP Health System-Marquette in Marquette, MI is seeking a neurosurgeon to join a 3-provider group replacing a relocating surgeon. The role features 40% outpatient and 60% operating room/inpatient duties, with teaching ties to Michigan State University and a collaborative team environment.

The successful candidate will have access to EMR-enabled triage, a supported clinic network across outreach sites, and a strong multidisciplinary Brain & Spine Center.

Qualifications

• 3-provider group seeking to replace relocating neurosurgeon.
• 6 Advanced Practice Providers - APPs take 1st call.
• Employed position with 40% outpatient / 60% OR/inpatient mix.
• Teaching affiliation with Michigan State University.
• Average of 20-30 patients per clinic day.
• Call 1:3.
• Level II Trauma Center.
• Clinic within hospital.
• Outreach clinics: Escanaba, Ishpeming, Hancock, Iron Mountain, Manistique, Newberry weekly.
• Comprehensive Brain & Spine Center including Neurology, Physiatry, Interventional Pain, Neurophysiology and Neuro/Health Psychology.

Responsibilities

• Perform neurosurgical procedures and manage inpatient consults.
• Lead outreach clinics and collaborate with APPs.
• Utilize EMR & triage systems for patient care.
• Supervise nursing and support staff.

• 1 RN, 1 LPN, 7 C/MAs & 7 clerical
