Job summary

The Clinical Nurse position at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s neuroscience unit provides skilled, compassionate care to patients with neurological conditions, postoperative neurosurgical patients, and epilepsy monitoring patients. The role is full-time with a 36-hour week across three 12-hour shifts, including rotating or night scheduling and self-scheduling.

Required qualifications include an ADN/BSN/MSN/CNL, at least one year of acute care RN experience, DC RN license with BLS, and

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• At least one year of recent, hospital-based acute care RN experience required.
• Epilepsy Monitoring, Neuroscience and Telemetry RN Experience preferred.
• Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex.
• You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.
• Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.
