Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Research Technologist – Animal Sciences to support designing and conducting experiments involving animals across conventional and specialized housing. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; no prior experience required.
• Background checks required: state police, child abuse, FBI.
• Experience in animal research is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn and manage lab orders and purchases.
• Handle mouse husbandry including breeding and genotyping.
• Conduct drug treatments including injections.
• Perform mouse brain tissue sectioning (frozen and paraffin).
• Acquire images with fluorescence microscopy.
• Conduct neurological behavioral tests in mice after stroke or brain trauma.
