Job summary

The Jazayeri Lab at MIT's McGovern Institute is seeking a Research Technician I to support animal care and wet lab tasks. The role blends behavioral observation, data collection, surgeries support, and MRI procedures under supervision, within a collaborative neuroscience environment.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's or Master's in Neuroscience or related life sciences, 0–2 years of research experience, and comfort working with non-human primates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a closely related life sciences field.
• 0–2 years of research experience as a Research Technician or in a comparable role.
• Comfort working with non-human primates on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily husbandry care for non-human primates (monkeys).
• Perform chamber cleaning and maintenance for monkey subjects.
• Conduct behavior-based observation, training, and data collection.
• Assist with surgeries and pre-/post-operative care.
• Support MRI procedures under senior researchers.
