The C. Schmidt lab at the Neuroscience Department of MUSC seeks a motivated research specialist to join our new lab at the Darby Children’s Research Institute and Hollings Cancer Center.

You will engage in neuroscience and cancer biology studies, gain hands-on skills in cutting-edge molecular techniques, and contribute to both basic science and translational research projects. Ideal candidates have a STEM degree with strong organization and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has a STEM degree and hands-on experience in biomedical research.
• Experience in neuroscience or cancer biology is preferred.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to learn new techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day lab operations and data collection.
• Support tissue culture, molecular biology, and imaging workflows.
• Maintain lab inventory, safety, and compliance with protocols.
• Contribute to experimental design and data analysis under supervision.
• Participate in training to expand methodological skills.
