Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin in the Department of Psychology is seeking a Research Engineering/Scientist Associate III to support neuroscience research in the Goris lab. The role spans laboratory operations, coordination, and advanced engineering projects.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree with experience or a Bachelor’s in neuroscience/biology/biomedical engineering with extensive experience, perform non-human primate care and aseptic procedures, and supervise laboratory

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's in neuroscience/biology/biomedical engineering with at least four years of experience.
• Experience with systems neuroscience techniques.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects independently and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform non-human primate care and enrichment program.
• Lead aseptic surgical procedures.
• Coordinate lab purchasing, equipment procurement, and project-related expenditures.
• Train and supervise lab personnel and ensure regulatory compliance.
