Job summary

The Research Assistant in at TAMU Health, Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine Department of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics (NExT) provides skilled, administrative, and technical support in research. Assists with phases in a research project.

In addition, they will plan and direct certain aspects of a research project focused on understanding mechanisms involved related to spinal cord injury. Collaborates with other research personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Experience with rodent models is preferred.
• Experience with cognitive and social behavior assays is preferred.
• Animal compliance training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in design, planning, and coordination of experiments.
• Keeps detailed records and performs data analysis.
• Operates and maintains research equipment and laboratory spaces.
• Coordinates with the PI on priorities and objectives of experiments.
• Supports day-to-day operations and data management.
• Assists with onboarding and mentoring of students and staff.
