Job summary

The Roskamp Institute in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Research Assistant I to support molecular and cellular neurobiology studies related to neurodegenerative diseases. Under supervision, you will perform basic experiments (ELISA, western blot, immunohistochemistry) and assist with animal studies using mouse models, tissue collection, and data recording.

Qualifications

B.S. or B.A. in Biological Sciences, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related field.
Previous lab experience in molecular biology, cell biology or neuroscience.
Experience with laboratory mice preferred (animal handling and basic dosing).
Willingness to learn new techniques and meet grant/report deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform basic molecular and cell biology experiments (e.g., western blot, ELISA, cell culture).
Characterize laboratory models of neurological disorders.
Assist with mouse studies and tissue collection.
Record and analyze data; maintain lab notebook.
Prepare materials for grant submissions and reports.
Collaborate with team members to achieve goals.
