The Transmitter in New York City is seeking an enthusiastic science reporting intern to join our newsroom for spring 2027. This paid internship offers hands-on training to cover neuroscience topics, with a 32-hour-per-week minimum.

The intern will learn to report and write news articles that educate, challenge and inspire scientists, and will build clips across genetics, cognition and behavior. The program takes place at the Simons Foundation offices in NYC from January to May 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline required.
• Graduate journalism coursework preferred.
• Background or strong interest in neuroscience, genetics, cognition and behavior.
• Must be familiar with and adhere to journalistic ethics.

Responsabilités

• Pitch, report and write news articles for The Transmitter.
• Perform other duties or tasks as assigned or required.
