Job summary

The Gill Institute for Neuroscience at Indiana University seeks a detail-oriented technician and lab manager to support federally funded projects on circadian timekeeping and sleep regulation. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain health and welfare of lab fly stocks and new stock intake.
  • Prepare media and solutions to support research activities.
  • Order supplies and maintain inventories of stocks, chemicals, antibodies, and tools.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and glassware.
  • Supervise undergraduates in lab maintenance and enforce safety policies.
  • Perform tests across assays using lab machinery and computer programs.
  • Test and set up lab equipment and troubleshoot breakdowns.
  • Collect data and prepare reports per established protocols.
  • Attend departmental meetings and participate in team activities.
  • Maintain logs and equipment record books.
