Job summary

The University of Minnesota is seeking a lab coordinator/research support technician to oversee daily lab operations and assist neuroscience research efforts. Responsibilities include managing space, equipment, and safety protocols, while supporting data collection and collaboration across departments.

Ideal candidates will have a biomedical science degree and hands-on experience with rodent-related research, histology, and data management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a biomedical science or equivalent with four years of relevant research experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues from different departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of lab space, including regular cleaning, placing orders, and maintenance of shared equipment.
• Maintain regulatory and compliance policies including IACUC, RAR, and lab safety protocols.
• Coordinate with Building Management and Facilities for infrastructure needs and issues.
• Coordinate with other MDTA labs on floor sharing spaces and equipment.
• Attend weekly lab meetings and present data to the team.
