Job summary

The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, invites applications for a Laboratory Manager in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. The Chen laboratory conducts clinical and research work to define cellular pathways underlying neurodegenerative disorders.

This on-site role focuses on lab operations, mouse work, data analysis, and collaboration with principal investigators. A advanced degree with strong publication history is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or a related field with one or more years of research training.
Proficient in proteomics, genomics, and various biochemical and molecular biological assays.
Experience with mouse handling and experiments.
Experience in genome editing techniques.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom.
Substantial publication record.
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

70%: Design, perform, and analyze experiments in neurodegenerative disease research.
Develop a new animal model to study relationships between disorders and periodontal diseases.
Provide interpretation of complex data and advise PIs and other investigators.
