Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Lab Assistant II in the Neurosciences division at La Jolla. The role supports cutting‑edge aging and neurodegeneration research using patient‑derived human cell models under the supervision of the PI and lab manager.

Responsibilities include assisting with experiments, preparing reagents, organizing samples, performing confocal imaging and data analysis, and maintaining meticulous records. Day shifts, 8 hours, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of lab experience or equivalent education.
• Background in human neural cell culture and basic molecular biology.
• Experience with data analysis and lab record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Assist laboratory experiments and maintain reagents, media and supplies.
• Organize samples, aliquot materials and keep accurate records.
• Perform confocal microscopy imaging, live-cell assays and metabolic analyses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to align workflows with project goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
