Job summary

Ohio Wesleyan University’s Neuroscience Program seeks a dependable student to care for laboratory mice, assist with data analysis, and support TA duties for the Behavioral Neuroscience lab class. You will gain experience handling animals and helping carry out your own neuroscience project.

Flexible hours between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM with some weekend availability for animal care; a strong interest in neuroscience or psychology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student with an interest in Neuroscience or Psychology.
• Willingness to handle mice and learn about animal research.
• Reliable, meticulous, and able to work independently or in a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• First- or second-year students may have priority for future projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in checking food, water, and health status of mice.
• Work with another student on cage changes and vivarium maintenance.
• Score mouse behavior videos and analyze histology images using ImageJ.
• Help set up and maintain lab equipment.
• Clean glassware and maintain chemical inventory records.
• Create documents or help organize Neuroscience Program events.
