Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to evaluate and manage inpatients on the Neuroscience ICU. The APP will join a busy Neuroscience ICU Division with plans for expansion.

The position requires completion of an accredited PA program or APRN program and current licensure eligibility, with BLS and ACLS certifications. The role involves 13-hour shifts and may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and licensure eligibility as a PA or completion of an accredited APRN program and licensure eligibility.
• APRN License Type/Certification: AGACNP/ACNP or FNP pathways for adult and lifespan care.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• DHEC and DEA license applications must be started prior to first day.
• Ability to work in Neuroscience ICU with complex patient population.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and manages inpatients on the Neuroscience ICU service.
• Performs procedures within scope of practice (e.g., lumbar puncture, arterial line placement, line placements).
• Collaborates with neurosurgeons and ICU team; initiates referrals and consults as needed.
• Documents care and participates in quality, compliance, and research activities.
• Maintains licensure and certifications as required by MUSC policies.
