Job summary

UCSF is seeking an Executive Director of Development, Neurosciences to lead a frontline fundraising team and collaborate with chairs, institute directors, and researchers to secure transformative gifts from $250k to $10M+ for the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences.

The role sits within the UDAR office, bridging clinical priorities with scientific research to accelerate breakthroughs in neurodegenerative diseases, mental health, brain injury, and cognitive science.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
8+ years of related fundraising experience.
7+ years of supervisory/management experience.
Strong knowledge of fundraising laws and policies.
Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills.
Strategic planning and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Direct frontline fundraisers and partner with department leaders to design donor opportunities.
Secure major and principal gifts ranging from $250k to $10M+.
Translate clinical and basic science priorities into compelling philanthropic narratives.
Collaborate with UDAR leadership and cross-functional teams.
Advise senior academic leadership and cultivate donor relationships.
