Department of Radiology UT Health San Antonio

The Department of Radiology in the Joe R and Teresa Lozano long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Neuroradiologist for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank and will include teaching duties. Our hospitals are regional referral centers for trauma, oncology, surgery, general medicine, and organ transplantation.

Duties include the clinical care of adult patients. Diagnosing and treating conditions of the brain, spine, head, neck, and nervous system using advanced imaging. Interpretation of complex scans, guide treatment choices, and performance of minimally invasive procedures. Read and analyze CT scans, MRIs, X-rays, and angiograms of the central nervous system. Identify strokes, brain and spinal tumors, aneurysms, vascular malformations, trauma, and degenerative brain diseases like Alzheimer's. Teaching and instruction within the clinical setting includes clinical supervision, case-based conferences, and formal lectures, focusing on training medical students, radiology residents, and subspecialty fellows. Provide instruction related to patient diagnosis and using tools like MRI and CT with hands‑on instruction. Reviewing brain and spine scans side-by-side with trainees at workstations to teach pattern recognition and diagnostic accuracy. Correcting interpretations of complex neuroimaging modalities like CT, MRI, and angiography as active cases flow through the clinical setting.

Candidates will be providing clinical services at University Health System, UT Health Medical Arts and Research Center, UT Health Hill Country and other affiliated facilities. Candidates must have graduated from an approved medical university and possess a Medical Degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), completed an ACGME accredited radiology residency or an equivalent international program and be fellowship trained in Neuroradiology, be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology and have or be able to obtain a Texas medical license. Candidates who qualify for the ABR Alternate Pathway may be considered based on documented eligibility for departmental sponsorship. Applicants should be competent in all aspects of diagnostic neuroradiology. Academic rank and salary commensurate with qualifications.
