Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville seeks a Full‑time Research Assistant to join a laboratory within Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital focused on neuromodulation interventions for psychotic disorders. You will recruit subjects, collect data, and assist investigators with analyses under supervision.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field, interest in mental health and interventional psychiatry, and strong organizational skills. Training in rTMS and data analysis will be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, psychology, or a related field.
• Clinical research experience is highly desirable.
• Training in rTMS, clinical interviewing, cognitive testing and neuroimaging data analysis will be provided.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit research participants into studies (independently or with others).
• Assess eligibility of participants for studies.
• Discuss informed consent with research subjects.
• Schedule research visits and activities.
• Conduct clinical interviews of psychiatric symptoms and substance use.
• Administer cognitive tests.
• Carry out neuroimaging study protocols.
• Administer rTMS under supervision.
• Assist with IRB approvals, data management and manuscript preparation.
• Attend clinical meetings and support recruitment in inpatient and outpatient settings.
