Location: BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital

Title: Neuromuscular Neurologist – Leadership Opportunity

Neuromuscular Neurologist – Leadership Opportunity at Bronson Neuroscience Center is seeking a full‑time, fellowship‑trained, BC/BE Neuromuscular Neurologist. The practice currently supports twelve neurologists and eight APPs. The ideal candidate will provide personalized, evidence‑based care at the highest level, collaborate with a dedicated team, and lead the Neurodiagnostics/EMG Laboratory.

Position Overview

• Focus on treating patients with neuromuscular disorders, including neuropathy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and related sub‑specialty care.
• May have a small component of general neurology.
• Comprehensive APP support and dedicated EMG days with experienced Neurodiagnostic Technicians in an AANEM‑Accredited Lab.
• Leadership role over the Neurodiagnostics/EMG Lab.
• Opportunity for teaching and academic affiliation with Western Michigan University’s Homer Stryker School of Medicine.
• Participation in clinical trials encouraged but not required.
• EMR: Epic.
• Weekday call averages four nights per month (no weekend call).

Responsibilities
  • Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients to meet their medical needs.
  • Educates patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources.
  • Determines which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs.
  • Assesses the level of urgency for follow‑up, referral, or consultation appointments.
  • Exercises final medical judgment in all health‑care issues.
  • Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients.
  • Orders studies, tests, and ancillary services.
  • Documents all services in the patient medical record.
  • Reviews long‑term cases that require ongoing medical attention on a regular basis.
  • Consults with the Medical Director and other staff regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.
  • Participates in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient‑care programs established by the hospital or clinic.
  • Oversees mid‑level medical staff and nursing clinical staff as assigned.
  • Assists in resolving complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Demonstrates commitment to outstanding customer service in alignment with the organization’s mission and values.
Requirements
  • Board‑certified or board‑eligible neurologist.
  • Fellowship in Neuromuscular or Clinical Neurophysiology with EMG/neuromuscular emphasis.
  • Active Michigan Medical, DEA, and CDS licenses.
  • Willingness to support and lead the ALS Program.
  • Current Medical License in the state of Michigan.
  • Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration.
  • Must maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges.
