Job summary

DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital in Portland, OR is seeking full-time Certified or Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join our Neurology team. As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, you will support neurology patients, perform anesthesia, facilitate CT and MRI imaging, and assist with neurosurgery while collaborating with a skilled team of specialists.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in the veterinary field as a technician or assistant
• 1+ year experience working in neurology or another specialty service
• Current status as CVT / LVT / RVT or equivalent with ability to transfer license to Oregon
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Perform anesthesia and monitor during procedures.
• Facilitate imaging with 64-slice CT and 3 Tesla MRI.
• Assist neurosurgery (craniotomies, hemilaminectomies) and postoperative care.
• Calculate medical dosages and administer medications.
• Run in-house lab work and place tubes/catheters.
• Update clients on patient progress and collaborate with hospital teams.
